Ecotech Grand Prix 2021 Preliminary Report: the Grand Prize went to Future Earth Institute, Inc!
2021/10/25The Ecotech Grand Prix 2021 was held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Center of Garage to select the winning teams for the Grand Prize and the Company Prize.
The Tech Planter concept has evolved to "Deep Issue & Deep Tech Explorer" since the 2020 season, which is a collection of science and technology to solve unsolved "deep issues" through "deep tech. Tech Explorer," which is a collection of science and technology to solve "Deep Issues" through "Deep Tech.
On the day of the event, the 12 finalist teams of the Eco-Tech Grand Prix, selected from the 316 teams that applied for the Tech Planter 2021 competition, gave passionate presentations about their thoughts on sustainability and solving social issues of the global environment.
And the winner of the prestigious Grand Prize was Future Earth Institute, Inc.
The theme of Future Earth Institute, Inc.Development of a method for generating carbon nanotubes from plastic wasteIt is a "one-stop-shop" for all your needs. Mr. Matsukawa, who entered Tokyo University of Science at the age of 58 to work on environmental and energy issues after the Great East Japan Earthquake, encountered a technology to produce high-quality carbon nanotubes (CNTs) from plastic with a conversion efficiency 10 times higher than conventional CNTs, and has been working to spread CNTs throughout the world and realize a sustainable society with carbon resources. The award was given in recognition of the reverse flow perspective of spreading CNTs around the world, resulting in the realization of a sustainable society through upcycling, as well as the determination of all partners to discuss and support the project together.
