MedTech Grand Prix KOBE2023: Grand Prize Won by PNP Vision

 MEDTEC Grand Prix KOBE2023 was held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Convention Hall of Kobe University's Center for Integrated Research and Innovation, and the Grand Prize and Company Prize winning teams were selected.

Starting with the 2020 season, the Tech Planter will evolve its concept to "Deep Issue & Deep Tech Explorer," which will use "Deep Tech," a collection of science and technology, to solve unsolved "Deep Issues. Tech Explorer," which is a collection of science and technology to solve "Deep Issues" through "Deep Tech". The goal is to encourage a global perspective from the early stage, and to accelerate new developments through collaboration with the 1371 Alumni teams (as of September 1, 2023) and other overseas tech planters hosted by RIVERNESS.

On the day of the event, the 12 MedTech Grand Prix finalist teams, selected from among the 336 teams that applied to Tech Planter 2023, gave passionate presentations on their ideas for implementing solutions to global issues through the use of technologies in drug discovery, regenerative medicine, diagnosis and testing, healthcare, and food.

 

The winner of the prestigious Grand Prize was "PNP Vision.

Dr. Kanade Tatsuzaki of PNP Vision (Hokkaido University) gave a presentation on "Cancer Diagnostic Device Using Single Particle Analysis Technology. Using his unique "single-particle surface molecular analysis technology," Mr. Tatsuzaki is constructing a cancer detection technology that is independent of cancer type based on the surface molecular information of biological particles contained in blood, and ultimately aims to create a world where "anyone can easily test for cancer throughout the body" through health checkups. The judges were unanimous in awarding this prize for its potential for future development and for its contribution to the "realization of human health.
