Shiga Tech Planter 2025 Call for Entries Now Open!

Shiga Tech Planter identifies business seeds in the fields of "manufacturing" and "water and environment" from science and engineering universities and companies aiming for second-stage startups based in the prefecture, The program provides opportunities for mentoring and consultation with experts to brush up commercialization plans. The 10th Shiga Tech Plan Grand Prix will be held with the aim of discovering and fostering teams that will change the world from Shiga Prefecture through science, technology, and passion.

Interested parties are requested to register their entry.

1 Subject
Those who have a vision to change the world and improve the world based on technology seeds in the real tech domain (manufacturing, robotics, mobility, IoT, artificial intelligence, materials, biotechnology, medicine, healthcare, food, agriculture, ocean development, resources, environment, energy, etc.) and have a will to develop new businesses.
Individuals and teams are welcome. Pre-incorporation is acceptable. Already incorporated are also acceptable (no limit on the number of years of incorporation).

2 Application period
Tuesday, April 1, 2025 - Tuesday, May 13, 2025 18:00

3 Entry Method

Specific entry procedures will be explained at the kick-off event to be held on Saturday, April 26, as described below. Entry details can also be discussed, so please join us.

4 Judging Criteria
A panel of judges consisting of members from the Consortium for Discovery and Development of Shiga's Growth Industries and partner companies will judge the entries based on the following criteria.
➀Novelty ➁Feasibility ➂Likelihood of changing the world ➃Passion

5 Shiga Tech Plan Grand Prix (7/26)
The 9 business plan applicants that pass the screening process will be selected as finalists and will be invited to present their business plans at the Shiga Tech Plan Grand Prix.

6 Kick-off event (held on 4/26)
A kick-off event will be held prior to the entry deadline. At this event, teams that have already entered or will enter the competition will present their business ideas, brush up on their ideas, and explore possibilities for collaboration among teams. The event will also provide an opportunity to meet and mingle with partner companies and past Alumni teams.
