A kick-off event will be held on Saturday, April 26, as the call for entries for Shiga Tech Planter 2025 begins.

Teams that have already entered, will enter, and teams that have entered in the past will present their business ideas, brush up on their ideas, and explore possibilities for collaboration among teams. The event will also provide an opportunity to interact with visitors, including partner companies. If you would like to give shape to your research results or business ideas, or if you have any updates from previous entries, please join us.

The Shiga Tech Planter is a business start-up support program that fosters researchers, engineers, and entrepreneurs with next-generation technologies and passion to change the world from Shiga by leveraging the strengths of the region, such as the research seeds of science and engineering universities and manufacturing SMEs in Shiga Prefecture, and research results in water and environmental technologies related to Lake Biwa. The program is designed to foster researchers, engineers, and entrepreneurs with next-generation technology and passion to change the world from Shiga.

The member organizations of the "Consortium for Discovery and Development of Growth Industries from Shiga" will work together with partner companies and others associated with Shiga Prefecture to develop a roadmap for commercialization together with the entry teams and provide various types of support (business plan development, selection of joint research partners, sales channel expansion, fund procurement, etc.).

In addition, the "Shiga Tech Plan Grand Prix" is held as an event for the entered teams to appeal for collaboration with companies and researchers. Many of the teams that have entered the program in the past have established corporations, obtained grants, and conducted joint research with companies.
