The Deep Tech Grand Prix 2021 was held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Center of Garage to select the winning teams for the Grand Prize and the Company Prize.

Starting with the 2020 season, the Tech Planter will evolve its concept to "Deep Issue & Deep Tech Explorer," which will use "Deep Tech," a collection of science and technology, to solve unsolved "Deep Issues. Tech Explorer," which is a collection of science and technology to solve "Deep Issues" through "Deep Tech.

On the day of the event, the 12 finalists for the Deep Tech Grand Prix, selected from among the 316 teams that applied for the Tech Planter 2021 competition, gave passionate presentations about their desire to solve unsolved problems by utilizing their core technologies.

And the winner of the prestigious Grand Prize was the team "3DC," whose parent company is a laboratory at Tohoku University.

The theme is "Graphene Mesosponge, a new carbon material that opens up the futureGraphene Mesosponge". Using the new carbon material "Graphene Mesosponge" that we have developed, we are aiming for technological innovation in the fields of energy and environment by developing rechargeable battery materials, new air conditioners, energy conversion, smart devices, and other applications. Although the road to practical application is long, the award was given with the expectation that the company will make full use of the assets of its partners in the potential use of graphene mesosponge to create deep tech, an aggregate of technologies, to confront various challenges.
