- TOHOKU TECH PLANTER is a platform to link the research results and technological capabilities of the Tohoku area, with its rich natural environment, to industry. The second edition of the Tohoku Tech Planter Grand Prix 2024 will be held with the aim of creating teams that are passionate about changing the world through science and technology from the Tohoku area, and creating venture companies that will serve as role models through collaboration with leading companies in and outside of the prefecture.

The 2nd Tohoku Tech Plan Grand Prix
Contestants will give a 7-minute presentation to a panel of judges followed by a 7-minute Q&A session. The Grand Prix will be held semi-closed and will be attended by contestants and partner companies as well as local businesses and universities. After the judging, an awards ceremony will be held.

- D., Pharmacist, founded LIVERNESS in 2002 with only undergraduate and graduate students of science and engineering while in graduate school. After completing the doctoral process, he worked as an assistant professor and lecturer at the Faculty of Science, Kitasato University, an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University, and a specially appointed associate professor at Keio University before assuming and concurrently serving as a professor of advanced pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kumamoto University and a visiting professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Keio University in 2018. He is a researcher and manager involved in launching joint research projects with universities and research institutions and supporting the establishment of research institutes while conducting research and development.

- He completed his graduate studies at the Graduate School of Business Administration, Keio University. He was seconded to Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), and served as a specially-appointed researcher at the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo, and ACCEL Program Manager at the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). He was appointed President and Representative Director of Glocalink, where he remains to this day. He has a proven track record of providing hands-on support to pre-startup teams and investing in and fostering venture companies immediately after their establishment. He has been actively involved as an advisor and board member of various companies.

- After graduating from university, he joined The Akita Bank, Ltd. in 2006. After 11 years of branch operations, he was transferred to the head office, where he was in charge of business succession and M&A operations for about 5 years. He is responsible for the management of JOITAM while overseeing the financial affairs of the Noshiro Densetsu Kogyo Group.

Assistant Professor, Department of Regenerative Medicine Research Planning and Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine, Rohto Pharmaceutical Co.Shun Shibata
- Born in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture. After joining Rohto Pharmaceutical, engaged in dermatological research. He was later transferred to Osaka University, where he engaged in research on the application of iPS cells and mesenchymal stem cells to regenerative medicine, and received his degree (Doctor of Medicine). Currently, he is engaged in human developmental research and research on the development of fertility treatment methods at Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine. His hobbies include watching sports, especially soccer, and outdoor activities such as camping and mountain climbing.

- M.S., Hokkaido University. Completed Master of Technology Management (MOT) at Tokyo University of Science, Graduate School for Working Adults. Specialized in synthetic organic chemistry. After working in drug discovery research, pharmaceutical-related business development, and M&A at a domestic chemical company, he was engaged in the management of a small molecule drug CDMO. 2021, he joined ZACROS Corporation (formerly Fujimori Industries, Ltd.) and assumed his current position from April 2024. He is involved in various measures related to the search for new business opportunities and R&D strategies, including the promotion of partnerships with startup companies.
