[Report] Deep Tech Grand Prix 2024: Grand Prize Won by Esmemus.

The Deep Tech Grand Prix 2024 was held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Center of Garage to select the winning teams for the Grand Prize and the Company Prize.

Since 2020, Tech Planter has been promoting the concept of "Deep Issue & Deep Tech Explorer," in which unsolved issues (Deep Issue) are solved by a collection of science and technology (Deep Tech). On the day of the event, the 12 finalist teams of the Deep Tech Grand Prix, selected from among 336 teams that applied for the Tech Planter 2024 competition, passionately presented their ideas for developing fundamental technologies that could lead to solutions to various social issues through the use of technology.

And the winner of the prestigious Grand Prize was "ESMEMS (theme name: wireless sensors that do not require batteries or wiring, just place them anywhere). The environmental vibration power generation technology they developed can generate mW-class power from slight vibrations, enabling sensing and wireless communication. In the future, the elements can also be miniaturized, mass-produced, and integrated into LSIs.

This technology has the potential to contribute to productivity improvement and labor savings in various industrial fields such as semiconductors, automobiles, and chemicals, in preparation for the super mass sensor society expected around 2030. Mr. Yamane, the representative of the company, plans to start his own business to implement the technology in society. All the judges shared his enthusiasm and awarded him the Grand Prize.

Esmes, along with the Tech Planter Grand Prize winning teams in the other six areas,The Japan Society for Hyperdifferentiation 2025 Tokyo-Kanto Conference(March 7 and 8, 2025) to participate in a special pitch session. Furthermore, the two teams that excel in this session will participate in the TECH PLANTER Asia Final 2025. Through these initiatives, we aim to unite Japanese and Southeast Asian ventures, large and medium-sized companies to develop solutions to deep issues in Southeast Asia.
