Masato Ueda, Professor at Kansai University, KUAU, winner of the Grand Prize of the Marinitech Grand Prix 2021, held in 2018.2nd Marintec Grand Prixa finalist and winner of the Corporate Award, was named Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Inoka Inc.

Press Release】Inocha, an environmental transfer venture, appoints Masato Ueda, a professor at Kansai University, a specialist in medical materials and regenerative medicine, as Director and CTO.

Dr. Ueda specializes in basic research on regenerative medicine for human subjects, especially on improving the biocompatibility of artificial material surfaces and promoting or inhibiting bone formation. Focusing on the similarities between coral and human bone formation mechanisms, he has discovered that titanium dioxide, a material used in implants for bone regeneration in the field of regenerative medicine and engineering, could be utilized as a new base material to efficiently adhere coral polyps and is working toward its practical application.

This research is expected to lead to the realization of a carbon-neutral society by improving the efficiency of coral seedling production, restoring the declining coral reef ecosystem, and fixing carbon dioxide in the coral's calcium carbonate skeleton.

At the Marintec Grand Prix 2021, the company made a presentation on the theme of "Aiming for CO2 fixation through high-efficiency coral propagation technology" and won the Grand Prize for its challenge from a different field and its vision of creating a carbon-neutral society.

Also,INOCA Corporation(Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yota Takakura), founded in 2018, is a University of Tokyo-launched venture company that promotes research and development and social implementation of environmental transport technology (*1) using IoT and AI technologies with the philosophy of "creating a world where people and nature can coexist for the next 100 years". In 20182nd Marintec Grand PrixThe company, which was founded after competing in the "Mere Old Man," is now working with research institutions to establish health diagnostic technologies for the marine environment and educating the next generation to gather friends who will protect the ocean.

With Mr. Ueda's participation, the company expects to accumulate scientific knowledge and further promote R&D and business development to further contribute to the conservation and restoration of coral reef ecosystems and biodiversity, as well as the realization of a carbon-neutral society.

This time KUAU Ueda's participation in INOCA Inc,TECH PLANTERThis will be an example of how Aramnai, Inc. and Aramnai, Inc. share each other's vision and establish a new structure to promote R&D and technological development.

1: Environmental transfer technology is a proprietary technology that reproduces an arbitrary ecosystem in an aquarium without using natural seawater, while balancing a wide range of parameters, including water quality (dissolved concentration of more than 30 trace elements), water temperature, water flow, lighting environment, and relationships among various organisms including microbes, using IoT devices developed in-house. This is INOCA's proprietary technology to reproduce a desired ecosystem in an aquarium using an IoT device developed by INOCA.
